Faktor Penyebab Kesulitan Siswa Dalam Memahami Konsep Dasar Bahasa Inggris

English is an international language that plays an important role in education and global communication. However, many students have difficulty understanding basic English concepts, especially at the elementary school level. This study aims to identify factors that cause students' difficulties in understanding English and to find solutions that can be applied to improve the effectiveness of learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that students' difficulties in understanding English are caused by internal and external factors. Internal factors include low learning motivation, lack of self-confidence, and differences in learning styles. Meanwhile, external factors include ineffective teaching methods, lack of English-speaking environment, limited learning resources, and differences in language structure between Indonesian and English. Strategies that can be applied to overcome these difficulties include increasing students' learning motivation through interesting learning methods, creating a conducive English-speaking environment, and developing varied and innovative learning resources. By understanding the factors that cause these difficulties, it is hoped that English learning can be more effective and help students master language skills better.
