Abstract

Character education has become one of the main focus in the education system in Indonesia. Character education curriculum curriculum is designed to shape learners' personalities so that they have noble values that are values that are reflected in daily behavior. This study aims to examine the impact of the implementation of the character education curriculum on the behavior of behavior of students at SD 106162 Medan Estate. The focus of the study includes changes in the behavior of behavior in the aspects of discipline, responsibility, as well as their social attitudes in the school environment. school environment. This research used a qualitative approach with case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive techniques to understand the extent to which the character education curriculum is able to shape student behavior in real terms. Research results showed that the implementation of this curriculum has had a positive impact on student behavior, especially in terms of increasing awareness of the importance of character values such as honesty, cooperation and empathy. character values such as honesty, cooperation and empathy. This finding indicate that character education is not only dependent on the curriculum implemented in schools, but also on the synergy between the various parties involved in the education process. involved in the education process. To achieve more optimal results, a more comprehensive strategy is needed, including training for teachers, increased family participation, as well as strengthening the school culture based on character education.
